Aid for violence in the name of “honor” and (imminent) forced marriage
Are you afraid that you are being married or are you already married against your will? Are you not allowed to meet friends? Are you not allowed to go to university or do an apprenticeship?
We offer accompanying counselling. Together we will look at the questions and worries that you have. We will talk about your options and wishes, and we will support you in taking your next steps.
How can I arrange an appointment?
You can call us. If no one is picking up the phone, you can leave us a voice mail with your phone number. We will call you back. Or you can write a mail to beratung@frauennotruf-marburg.de and we will get back to you. We will decide together at which secure location we can meet up.
How can I arrange an appointment if I speak little to no German?
You can leave us a voice mail with your telephone number and the language in which you wish to have the counselling. We will arrange a female interpreter. We can offer counselling in English without an interpreter.
What is counselling with an interpreter like?
There will be three people present: you, the counsellor and the female interpreter. The interpreter knows that sexualized violence will be the topic of the counselling session. She is prepared for that topic. The interpreter is not allowed to talk to anyone outside the Frauennotruf about the content of the session.
You are a supporter?
We offer counselling on how to be a good companion and supporter concerning issues of sexualized violence. We will give you information on how to act in a sensitive matter. We will help you with an assessment of a dangerous situation.
